The COVID-19 pandemic has brought on uncertain times in every area. Animal shelters have not been exempt from this. But for some animals, foster families have turned into forever families thanks to the uncertainty.

To keep up with rescue demands, many animal shelters across the country rely on volunteers to foster animals while they wait to be adopted.  Surprisingly, the pandemic has prompted many people to adopt rather than shop.  According to animal shelters in East Hampton, New York, many foster families have even decided to keep their foster pets — forever!  An animal lover himself, Faris Sweiss hopes that this trend will continue to grow.  As a dog owner, it warms his heart to know that more people are taking up the ‘adopt, don’t shop’ approach when rescues need them most!
